  • In today's competitive and often test-optional college admissions landscape, a well-crafted, insightful essay is an especially important component of a student's application.
  • I've helped over 360 students these last seven years understand the purpose and process of essay writing for the Common Application and supplemental prompts.   During our collaborative sessions, we brainstorm topics and discuss revisions to produce essays my students are proud to send to colleges.   We can either meet in person at my Mt. Lebanon home or at a distance using Zoom meetings and shared Google documents.
  • My students have been accepted to: Stanford, Duke, Princeton, Yale, CMU, Michigan, Notre Dame, Northwestern, Washington University, NYU, Georgetown, Villanova, Georgia Tech, Williams, Boston College, Berkeley, Northeastern and Schreyer Honors College.
  • I also help with personal statements for scholarships, internships and medical school applications.

Student Testimonials

  • "You made the complicated college application process much easier.  I found it very helpful because you kept me on a timeline, so I didn't fall behind in the process. You also gave great advice to help me organize my thoughts and ideas and convert them into many well-written essays."  Avery

  • "Mrs. Falbo was a great writing coach. She really walked me through the process while letting me direct the narrative. She was kind and easy-going which made the writing application process easy and fun to do."  Steven

  • "Being able to talk through my essay with someone who knows what they're talking about and knows exactly what colleges are looking for really helped me write all my essays."  Tyler

  • "You helped me to not over-complicate or over-formalize my work and helped me to avoid procrastination." Chloe

Parent Testimonials

  • "My daughter was admitted to many of her first-choice schools and programs.  Thank you so much for working with her to write a great essay!  She didn't provide her SAT scores to any schools---so I know that her GPA, school activities, philanthropic efforts and essay (tying it all together) were the key components. " John

  • "Thanks so much for your invaluable help with his essays last summer. I really loved his personal statement, and in this extraordinarily competitive year of applications, I think it really helped showcase his personality and writing abilities." Melissa

  • "Sarah brought valuable context from outside sources on what colleges are probing for with each specific question, and she strikes the right balance of working within the ideas of the student and suggesting a few enhancements. And Sarah has excellent writing skills of course. The bottom line is that our daughters were very happy with Sarah's support and were accepted into their first-choice schools."

  • "The time spent with you working on essays was invaluable. It ensured that he had confidence in what he was saying and how he expressed it. He looked forward to working with you and it kept him on track."  Lisa
